DEJA VUThe 3/17th sent me a series of pictures taken on the Squadron's recent JRTC (Joint Readiness Training Center) rotation at Fort Polk, LA. I looked at the pictures and was struck by the similarity of many of the pictures to ones we took in Vietnam. I guess soldiering in the field doesn't change that much over time. The equipment may change, but the troopers solve the same problems with the same field expedience. I thought it would be interesting to see two generations of 3/17th troopers side-by-side, with the 1999 troopers on the left and the 1970 troopers on the right. It proves the old adage: "Same shit, different day." Bill Nevius, Delta Troop Webmaster ![]()
