Fire Bases That Delta Troop Called Home

Delta Troop was assigned fire base security from time to time as a relief from field duty. Assignments in 1971 sent platoons to Fire Support Base Mace, Fire Base Judy, Fire Base Jay, and Fire Base Evelyn, all of which were in the Xuan Loc area.

Delta Troop at Fire Base Judy in 1971

Fire Base Judy was home to both the 2nd and 3rd platoons at various times in 1971. When 2nd platoon was there, the artillery were three M114A1 155mm towed howitzers. When the 3rd platoon moved in, the base was reconfigured, using M109 155mm self-propelled howitzers.
