The 1970 POW Camp Raid SitRep

George J. Veith provided the Blue Tigers with this National Archives copy of the Situation Report of Co. D (Ranger), 75th Infantry for 24 January 1970. Paragraph 1(a) below reports the POW camp raid. Paragraph 2 below confirms that the Blue Tigers were the Ready Reaction Force for D-75th Rangers.

The raid was reported to II Field Force G-3 in this SitRep, but it is not reported in the MACV Command History, the SOG Appendix, the JPRC Annex, nor in the monthly reports of these agencies.

Similarly, the Redhorse Review does not mention the POW camp raid. However, some joint Ranger - Blue Tiger operations were reported in the Redhorse Review. Paragraph 5 below details the plans for an operation on the day after the POW camp raid. That operation was reported in the last paragraph of the February 1970 "Tiger Talk" in the Redhorse Review.
