Billy "Tadpole" McCall's PicturesTadpole McCall and Mississippi Withers were members of the same squad in the second platoon. They both took many pictures, so it is not surprising that their photo records of Vietnam are very similar. We have selected a few pictures from Tadpole's photo files that add to the story of the Bluetigers in 1970 and 1971. Tadpole made good notes on his pictures. His notes comprise the picture captions. Tadpole arrived in Vietnam in September 1970, when he was assigned to 1/14th in the 4th Division. He came to D Troop in December 1970 and served there until his rotation home in September 1971. "Tadpole" was the only name he was ever known by while with the Bluetigers. ![]() This is our squad: Sgt Marvin Carlisle-Georgia; Billy McCall-Miss.; Sterling Withers-Miss.; Sgt Roy Tucker-N.C.; Michael Langnehs-Kentucky; Lee Ballinger-W.
